learning from bears: hiberation

Let's see how many clever lies perfectly understandable reasons I can come up with to excuse myself from not posting for a really long time (not that anyone's reading - and I know that's true, haha; and it's fine):

(1) It was winter and very cold in the part of the world where I reside. The holiday season is always a chaotic time at work and with time on and off work (which means traveling in and out of town and not in the good, going on vacation way), there wasn't very much time to post anything. Plus nothing exciting happened.

(2) My friend (who is lovely) and I made a pathetic attempt starting a small business together. Seeing as how the holidays were nearly upon us, we - two passionate and meticulous bakers - thought we could make it selling Cookies professionally. We met a number of times, brainstormed visions, brainstormed brands, brainstormed cookies, and in the end, nothing came of it. I suppose, if I must be positive about the experience (because it really wasn't all that bad) I got to bake and eat a lot of cookies. And I'm pretty stocked for dried cranberries, brown sugar, icing sugar, and white chocolate chips.

(3) I got sick.

(4) The first car love of my life died on me! ... And then we got into a car accident! ... !! (You know it's serious when I use that many exclamation marks.) But we weren't hurt; only the car was. So we went on a hunt to find a new car and were surprisingly blessed upon discovering - and purchasing - our new baby.

(5) I lost our camera. ... I don't even want to talk about it.

(6) I discovered that I was a Canon girl and didn't get along with Nikon point and shoots. No matter how hard I tried, no matter how much time I put into figuring out its functions, no matter how many deep breaths I took, I just cannot use our Nikon point and shoot. For very simple, outdoor photos, it's tolerable, but for anything that requires flower power (aka macro focus) or indoor lighting or fine detail, it just doesn't work.

one of the few pictures Nikon took well

(7) I went away ... a few times since the last post.

Okay so really there are tons of reasons why I didn't post, but the most prominent one was that I was LAZY. I'm sure no one is surprised, haha. But my long hibernation from posting is over and I've returned - with a new Canon! Actually, that's probably the number one reason that's pushed me to post again.

So with that I promise to post again - soon. There have been a few things I've done, a few places I've visited, and plenty of pictures that I want to share somewhere and since I've no where else to share (aside from Facebook, I suppose) here will do fine.

See. The proverbial Black Dress that's been forgotten for a really long time still hangs in the back of the closet. This is truth more for me than anyone else who might stumble upon this. ... And, in reality, my black dress really is still hanging in my closet; I haven't worn it for years, and it's an ancient dress, but I'll probably hang onto it until it gets throw out or sold at my Estate Sale.

P.S. Blogspot difficult as always in the inserting, positioning, and formatting of pictures. It's nice to know that some things never change. Of course in this case, it's one of those things that really should change.
